Watford will face Leicester City at  Vicarage Road Stadium, in Watford, at 29th Round of English Premier League. Watford against Leicester City is always the match with big interest after their previous matches in English Premier League. Review our thoughts on this match here below.

Watford

Watford this season has identified their self as a solid middle-class team. They are now at an 8th place in the Premier League table, but it’s most likely that they will not be able to fight for tickets to European competitions. They already lost 10 times in 28 matches and won 11. They started the season not very confidently, however, now they look much better as they lost only 3 times in 16 last matches in all competitions. Moreover, the Hornets lost only to Top clubs – Chelsea, Tottenham, and Liverpool and won 8 matches. This team form is very promising.

All main squad players are fit and ready to face Leicester City with a new Head coach. E. Capoue, T. Deeney and J. Holebas are playing important and leading roles in Watford.

Yellow army really looks great at counter attacks and creating chances through individual skills. However, they are weak at keeping possession of the ball, protecting the lead and defending set pieces. Very likely that Watford will attack through the middle, play aggressively with consistent first eleven.

Leicester City

Leicester City had very big problems in the last 8 matches and the whole season in total. They won only once in last 8 matches in all competitions because they changed their head coach to Brendan Rogers. Moreover, Kolo Toure joined Rogers staff as first team coach. As a result under a new coach, once they already won against Brighton with 2:1 result. Departure from the league does not threaten them, however, they need to play better than they play now. The team is young and strong, some players are left in the squad form the Champions squad since 2015/16 season.

Now almost all main squad players are fit and ready to prove their selves as great players and team in total. Unfortunately, Adrien Silva is away to Monaco on a Loan deal and M. Albrighton will miss the next match due to injury.

The Foxes are great at counter attacks, coming back from the losing positions and protecting the lead. They are weak at finishing scoring chances, avoiding individual errors and defending counter attacks. Very likely that with a new coach their game will change in a better way.

H2H

Last time these teams met at the end of last year. Watford tried to control the game, shot more often, however, Leicester City won this match with 2:0 result.
