New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will open the first round of the Premier League with Aston Villa as guests. Tottenham vs Aston Villa should be a very interesting match, as one team just entered the highest English League and have lots of changes in their team. While Spurs have almost the same squad and slowly but confidently building a very young and strong lineup.

Last time these teams played in FA Cup 1/32 round, where Spurs won with 2:0 result knocking Aston Villa out. Moreover, during the 2015/16 regular season, Aston Villa lost twice to Tottenham at home and away. We see here team with different levels, however, Aston Villa changed during the summer transfer window. We expect an interesting and entertaining game on the 10th of August.

Tottenham

Tottenham had an incredibly difficult but successful season last year. There were ups and downs, that season was very interesting. After a difficult journey, the team played in the UEFA Champions League Final where they fought until their last breath. The incredible desire to win made it possible to achieve unprecedented heights. In the semifinals, they won against Ajax, who was a clear favorite after all matches played against teams like Real Madrid and Juventus. However, Lucas Moura made an impossible impact on their teams win and a ticket to the Final.

In general, Spurs faced lots of troubles with injuries, and a heavy schedule. Dele Ali, Harry Kane, Serge Aurier, Victor Wanyama, and Eric Dier missed almost half of the season. During this summer transfer window, they made two interesting transfers. Firstly, they sold Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid, as he’s form was very wavy. However, they brought a talented player from Olympique Lyonnais Tanguy Ndombele to strengthen their central area. We expect that Tottenham vs Aston Villa we will remember as one of the most interesting opening games.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa showed a very strong and solid character. They won the Premier League playoffs finishing at 5th position in the regular season. Half of the season the team lost their game at all, and they only had to collect points by playing a draw. However, at the end of the Championship season, they started playing as they probably had never played. They won 10 games in a row and took enough points to continue the fight for a place in the Premier League. They proved themselves as any team wishing to play in the Premier League should express themselves.

During this summer transfer window, the team changed almost all squad. They already brought 12 players from absolutely different clubs. Of course, they had lots of players with more than 33 years of age. Now they will play an even faster style of game and will abe to use rotational strengths. All players must find themselves under the leadership of Dean Smyth. If everything works out, we can expect them to be Premier League underdogs and dangerous opponents.
