After the opening of Frank Lampard’s game in Premier League, when they lost to Manchester United 0:4, the thoughts of revenge did not leave the Blue’s. Will Chelsea take revenge after such a shameful defeat, or Manchester United will repeat this win? Read our thoughts about this interesting EFL Cup Chelsea vs Manchester United match, here below.

In recent games, Chelsea has gained incredible form. They have 7 straight wins so far and from the bottom of Premier League already joined 4 first teams. At the moment, Blues have collected 20 points after 10 rounds and are only 2 points away from Manchester City, which on 2nd place. London Chelsea shows us how strong motivation, right words, and big work gives convincing results. This young team under Frank Lampard management were under big question before the season started. Especially, when they lost to Manchester United at the beginning, to Liverpool in Super Cup nd then Valencia in Champions League, everybody thought Frank should have at least 1 season to find the right way to motivate and build the team. However, he found the right words and the youngest Premier League team already shows one of the strongest results.

In UEFA Champions League, they also started the season from the defeat to Valencia. However, they stood strong and won already 2 games in a row over the Lille, and surprisingly against Ajax, which plays unbelievable football at home ground. At the moment, Chelsea stands at 1st place with great chances to qualify to Playoffs and show that age and experience is not the main factor in football. More important motivation and desire to win Trophies.

Unfortunately, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Antonio Rudiger will miss the next game due to injuries. Still under question Barkey and Kante participation in this game due to injuries.

Manchester United

The Red Devils are not playing at their full potential. At the moment, they collected only 13 points in Premier League and already lost 3 games. The win over the Norwich City was the first for Reds out of 5 games away this season in PL. Previously the had 2 draws and 2 defeats against West Ham and Newcastle. In general, the squad needs to show much stronger and confident results, as most of them are stars and have great potential to show. Unfortunately, Manchester faced an injury crisis and many important players were out for these months.

Despite the weak results in Premier League, United shows strong results in UEFA Europa League. They stand at 1st place with 7 points after 3 matches. The Reds won over the Partizan and FC Astana and drew with AZ Alkmaar. They are strong favourites of the group, however, opponents are not very dangerous. So in general, they were lucky to get in such a group. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not creating miracles, so his management in United is still under questions. He was compared several times with Jose Mourinho, which showed a better win rate of Portuguese. He needs more time to build this talented team with such a big amount of leaders and great players.

Eric Bailly, Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, Axel Tuanzebe, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah will miss the next game due to injuries.
