While Chelsea searching for a most suitable manager in the squad, Liverpool reaching finals and fighting for the 1st place in Premier League already several seasons in a row. With Jurgen Klopp Liverpool already achieved much. One of the most important wins were over Chelsea already this season as they become UEFA Super Cup winners winning by penalties. In Premier League Chelsea drawn the game at home and Liverpool confidently won 2:0 at Anfield. But now Chelsea squad strongly changed and new minds going to show new abilities. Last time, Blues were beaten at home in the 2016 year.
Chelsea
After a very big defeat at the beginning of the season against Manchester United, team looks much stronger now. Blues going well in premier League with already undefeated matches and 2 wins over Norwich and Wolves. The match against Wolves was very special for them, as it was a great opportunity to believe in themselves and show a respected result. Most important, for young players to work more and show an even better result.
Chelsea played they very first UEFA Champions League match after a large season break. They won last year Europa League so automatically been involved into this tournament. The ex-Champions of CL faced Valencia in an opening-round, at Stamford Bridge. However, this game was very unlucky for them, as they conceded a late goal at 74th minute and then missed the penalty. When Barkley went to the penalty spot, looked like Willian wanted to hit, but Ross didn’t let him. It may have been a psychological blow to his rhythm, but the team missed the chance to draw. In general, they played better football, created much more dangerous moments and pressed opponents on the very often. This year, a very heavy group and it’s important to take every point here. But everything still in front, and the team is gaining intensity and self-confidence.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kante, Antonio Rudiger and Marco van Ginkel will miss next game due to injuries. Probably, Collum Hodson Odoi will be included in the team. However, obviously will be on the bench after a serious injury.
Liverpool
Liverpool showing one of the best performances so far. They stand at the 1st place in Premier League with 5 straight wins. Once again, they showing best defence and one of the most productive attack, as they scored 15 and conceded only 4 goals. The super trio was involved already in almost all season goals and continue to delight the fans all over the world. After failing to be champions of Premier League, this year they obviously looking forward to fight in every minute of the match.
Unfortunately, Liverpool face-slapped after an unbeaten streak. They met Napoli in the first round of UEFA Champions League and lost with 2:0 result in Naples. The Reds were more dangerous, had more dangerous moments. Salah created a lot of moments, but Koulibaly together with newcomer Manolas stood strong in defence and seemed that match will finish without scoring any goals. However, Andrew Robertson made a mistake and Dries Mertesnconfidently netted the ball. But that was not the end, as in 92nd minute, Fernando Lorente headed one more goal and totally disappointed Liverpool. We are sure that Liverpool will work on the mistakes and will be ready for revenge already at Anfield.
Nathaniel Clyne, Alisson Becker and Naby Keita will miss next game due to injuries.
