The national team from Italy have taken 2nd place in the first round, only losing against Serbia. However, the other two matches were very easy. So far Italy is showing very good basketball, they are adapting to opponent and can play fast and slower basketball, they played fast game with many three-pointers against the Philippines and scored 108 points, however when they were losing against Serbia, Italy started to play slower and concentrate on the defence, in result they started playing much better and almost tied the result. So this should be a very interesting game because Italy is performing very well. However, Spain is struggling so it should be a close game.

Surprisingly Spain is struggling very much so far, a very disappointing first half against Turkey, whole close game against Iran, where they risked of losing match, doesn’t show a good impression. On paper, Spain has brought a very good squad, but it is hard to imagine what is going on, maybe it is lack of motivation, however in this round if they don’t start performing, the tournament will be ended much sooner than everyone expects. But everything is in Spain’s hands, now is the match against Italy and they must start showing maximum focus and concentration.
