it is a friendly FIBA World Cup 2019 matchup between China and Poland, in Beijing, China. This is an interesting game as these teams are favorites to win the group, so please review our thoughts about this FIBA World Cup match here below.

China

China has won their last game against Cote d’Ivore by the result 55:70. This is a great start for them as they are the local team in this championship. China showed us some fantastic defense in the 1st game of the tournament. They allowed only 55 points and although it was against not a very good team, it is none the less good result. Their big guys were blocking shots in the paint. Defensive rotations are on point and things are looking good for China. However, offense was not that pleasing. 70 points are not the result you would like to show against a team like that. But we can say that it was the nerves as they were playing at home, in front of their own crowd. It will be very interesting to see if China will be able to keep their intensity and turn home-court advantage into the benefit.

Poland

Poland won their 1st game against Venezuela by the result 80:69. It is pretty surprising that they won this game that easily. Poland had a nice start, it will be very interesting to watch their games further on. Poland has many good shooters so it is easier for them on the offensive end. Europeans are stretching the floor very well and are able to get into the paint easier or get easy shots from three point land. Defense is also clicking for Poland. They have good big players who are active on rotations and can defend opposing team’s small guys. They are playing defense with heart which shows that they have respect for the coaching staff and themselves as well. It is not a popular oppinion, but we think that this team will get to the playoffs and might even get one or two upsets in the post-group stage.
