Please read our thoughts about this interesting Euroleague Zalgiris Kaunas vs Lyon Villeurbanne match here below.

Zalgiris Kaunas

Zalgiris struggled the first two matches but in the last round against Real have shown their true face and performed very well. LeDay, Haynes, and Grigonis have scored 54 points out of 86 total.  It was a very good performance because few times it seemed that Real is going run away, but every time Lithuanians managed to come back. Also this weekend they defeated main rivals Rytas in local cup 70:88 in an away game. So maybe Zalgiris is starting to perform as they were supposed from the beginning. However it only starts of the season and now they face an opponent which was underestimated a few times and both times won, so this won‘t be as easy as it looks like.

Lyon Villbeginning

Lyon has only started some two times in a row, defeating Panathinaikos and Olympiakos, but thee previous round brought them back to reality as they lost against Bayern 104:63.  And now they are facing also very strong opponents in their own arena, so this will be a very difficult match for French. If they want to win, they must perform and not give up as they did in the first two rounds. Considering what squad both teams are bringing, Lyon will need a miracle to win in Kaunas, because Zalgiris now will in a very good mood, motivated and knowing that they cannot fail at home if they want to advance further. So Lyon must find some key advantages and try to perform as well as they can to even try to match Lithuanians.
