Zalgiris started this season very well, with 4 wins in a row, however then followed 6 losses. But the mood in Zalgiris camp is quite alright, because the team is once again on a 3 game winning streak, and their next opponent is not too tough to beat. However, Bayern is a dangerous team and should not be underestimated. Coach Trinchieri likes attacking game just like Zalgiris. But Bayern has less talented players, so this is a must win game for Lithuanians. Nevertheless, coach Schiller will have to prepare a good defence strategy, because the Germans also are a good team on defence. Another advantage for Zalgiris is their home arena, although there wont be any fans, Zalgiris is still proving to be a better team when they play in Lithuania.
Bayern is a dark horse of this season. The team that is not built in the best way, but is willing to fight against everyone. Coach Trinchieri knows German players very well because he spent most of his coaching in there. From the last 4 games in Euroleague, Bayern has won 3 and the only loss was against Zenit, a considerably better team. A huge trouble for Bayern is their defence, because even in German Cup they manage to let opponents score a 100 points, which is way too much for a Euroleague team. Considering how well Zalgiris is attacking, this might the biggest problem so far. Nevertheless, their advantage could be the coach’s experience in Europe and if Trinchieri manages to outsmart Schiller, Bayern might grab a win.
