Two competitive teams will face off against each other in a very exciting match in Spain. Baskonia
Baskonia have made a lot of changes in their lineup this season, as injuries just keep occurring. Nick Stauskas is not with a team anymore and J. Granger and P. Garino won’t be available for Thursday’s match. After changing the long-time coach V. Perasovič for D. Ivanovič, Baskonia also acquired S. Christon, who was playing great very well this season for Limoges. Baskonia is one of the worst Euroleague teams playing on the road, but they’re also always dangerous at home arena. Baskonia’s recent form is very questionable as they’ve lost 6 out of last 10 matches played, including 3 out of 5 in Euroleague. In order to win against in-form Zalgiris, Baskonia will have to play one of the best matches of the season and we’ll have to see if they manage to do so.
Zalgiris
Even though Zalgiris is currently ranked 13th after 24 rounds played, the team is actually playing very high-quality basketball at the moment. After winning 3 matches in a row, Zalgiris couldn’t sneak away from the victory against Anadolu Efes. Knowing that Anadolu Efes is by far the best team in this tournament so far, Zalgiris managed to lose only in few possessions in the end and it’s still a positive sign. Zalgiris is also riding on the positive momentum after winning the Lithuanian Cup this weekend. The only question mark has Zalgiris recovered after playing 2 matches in a row this weekend. Either way, playing as well as they’ve been lately, Zalgiris will have very good chances to fight for victory in Vitoria.
Baskonia vs Zalgiris H2H
Baskonia have won 5 matches in a row, including one earlier this season in Zalgiris Arena, 70-58.
