This is an entertaining match in Euroleague between Anadolu Efes Istanbul and Olympiakos Piraeus, at Sinan Erdem Dome, the home of Efes. In our opinion, it is an interesting matchup so please, review our thoughts on this match, here below.
Anadolu Efes
Currently, Efes is in the 4th seed of the Euroleague standings (14-8) and looks forward to take some more wins. Anadolu is an unselfish offensive team as they are 4th in points per game (85.4ppg) and 1st in assists per game (20.3apg). Also, they are very accurate for the field, Efes is in the 2nd place among Euroleague teams with almost 54FG%. Anadolu is playing pretty decent lately as they have won 5 of their last 7 games. Vasilje Misic is the main player for them as he is leading the team in points assists and PIR per game. But that doesn’t mean that they do not have more assets. Actually, Anadolu has nice depth as 7 of their players are scoring more than 8 points per game. At home, Anadolu is playing VERY good as their winning record while playing in Sinan Erdan Dome is 9-2. This season’s leaders: Vasilje Micic (12ppg, 5.3ast), Adrien Rodrigue Beaubois (12.3ppg, 3ast), Adrien Moerman (11.8ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.7apg).
Olympiakos Piraeus
Currently, Olympiakos is ranked in the 6th seed of Euroleague standings (12-10) and wants this home advantage for the playoffs, so this is an extremely important game for them. They have recently signed Briante Webber who has some NBA experience and is a very good playmaker. This is a very smart move by Olympiakos front office because they have only won 1 of their last 5 games and they needed to get some power to show something new for opposing teams. Oly plays very viscously, positional basketball and this is not working lately. Axel Toupane is playing pretty well lately so he could be a very good asset in this game. Olympiakos leaders this season: Nikola Milutinov (11ppg, 8rpg, 19.9PIR) Georgios Printezis (10.9ppg, 5.4rpg), Vassilis Spanoulis (10.6ppg, 4.9apg). Olympiacos is playing awful on road with the record 3-7.
H2H
This is a clash of two teams that prefer very different playstyle. Anadolu is on winning rampage recently and Olympiakos is losing many games lately. Last game Olympiakos came victorious 88-81. Olympiakos leaders: Axel Toupane (19pts), Nikola Milutinov (15pts, 7/7 FG), Spanoulis, Printezis, Strelnieks, Leday (10pts each).
