The second semi-final of the day at ATP Grand Slam at Wimbledon. This should definitely be a closer and more entertaining semi-final as both of these legends will face off against each other once again. Rafael Nadal
2nd ranked Spaniard is without a doubt one of the 3 best players we have today but the way he’s been playing so far is been impressive even knowing his standards. Nadal has only lost a single set to Kyrgios this tournament so far and has absolutely dominated Sam Querrey today only giving away 8 games in 3 sets. Nadal has dropped out of Wimbledon at the same semi-final stage last year when he was matched against Novak Djokovic. This time he will have to play against his long-time rival Federer, who is considered a better player on faster grounds. It’s very hard to predict if Rafa will keep the same level of performance against one of the greats, but if he does we might see him finally reaching the final of Wimbledon.
Roger Federer
Currently 3rd ranked Federer similarly to Nadal have only lost 2 sets this tournament so far. He gave away the first set against Harris at the opening round and the one to Nishikori today. It has really taken some time for Maestro to warm up today as Nishikori took over the first set, but after that Federer just took over the match and never looked back. With a victory against Nishikori Federer clinched a milestone of winning 100 matches at Wimbledon which is absolutely mind-blowing. Roger hasn’t lost a single match on grass this season so far and knowing how good he is on the grass there would be no surprise to see him at the final once again. Of course, the main thing he needs to improve against Nadal is his first set where he has struggled at this tournament so far.
