The second day of quarter-finals at the French Open. Here we have two of the top5 in the world facing each other and what an exciting game it will be! To have more insights on this ATP Novak Djokovic vs Alexander Zverev match please check out the preview below.
Novak Djokovic
Novak and Rafa are two players who look like they’re out of this planet. All of the players in quarter-finals are great for sure, but these two are playing on the other level. For example, Djokovic hasn’t lost a single set in the first 4 rounds. He beat Hurkacz, Laaksonen, Caruso, and Struff quite easily. Stamina and health is also a very important factor at this stage of the tournament. Djokovic is definitely one of the guys who spent the least time on the court. It’s hard to see a single weakness in his game but we have to admit – he hasn’t faced any of top tier players so far and tomorrow is going to be his first real test at Roland Garros.
Serbian has lost only 2 matches this season on clay. It happened against Medvedev in Monte Carlo and Nadal in Rome. Let’s see how Djokovic will show up against one of the top class players tomorrow.
Alexander Zverev
We’ve talked about Zverev being criticized for not showing up at the highest stages of Master Series and other big tournaments but he really managed to deliver against Fognini yesterday. The match itself was an interesting one with a lot of ups and downs from both players but Zverev managed to capitalize on Fognini’s mistakes and won the match in 4 sets after losing the first set. It’s a good sign on Zverev’s side as Fognini has been showing incredible form this tournament. The only chance Zverev has to beat Nadal is to keep playing at the same level and show up at his best shape, otherwise, his 8 win streak will be in real danger of being broken.
Novak Djokovic vs Alexander Zverev H2H
Zverev is winning H2H 3 wins to 2 as one of these wins were on clay in Rome in 2017.
