1/8 final of Roland Garros. This should be the closest match of the day as both players are in great form. To have more insights on this ATP Kei Nishikori vs Benoit Paire match please check out the preview below.

Kei Nishikori

7th in the world and seems like finally looks like he is in a good shape to reach higher stages of the tournament. The main problem for Nishikori is not being able to show up at the biggest stages of the biggest tournaments as he often falls short in quarter-finals or even earlier. In this year’s French Open first round he’s beaten Halys in straight sets. In the 2nd round, Nishikori played against Tsonga and managed to come out as a winner in 4 sets. The real test was against Djere in 3rd round where Serbian had an advantage in 5th set but Nishikori climbed back and won the match. Seeing the tendencies in this tournament’s results there would be no surprise if Nishikori would fall short in 1/8 final once again.

Kei Dropped out of Roland Garros in R16 last year and he’s already passed his previous result this year. If Nishikori manages to play the same level he played before and get some consistency going this tournament can finally be his time to silence the critics.

Benoit Paire

Currently 38th in the world but the ranking doesn’t say everything about Paire this season given how well he is playing. Even though he started the season well it was really these tournaments at his home court where Paire got to the next level. Considered a complete underdog in Lyon he managed to even win the title. A few days later the French Open started and here is Paire extending his win streak. Paire defeated Copil in 4 sets in the first round following up with the win over Herbert in 5 sets the day after that. Paire also defeated Carreno-Busta after Spanian retired in the 4th set.

Frenchman dropped out of French Open in R64 last year and he’s already passed his previous result. Given how well he plays at his home court it would be no surprise if Paire came out as a winner of this match.
