The second day of 1/32 Finals of Roland Garros meets us with the first game of the day between Pablo Cuevas and Kyle Edmund. This is one of the most interesting games of the day. To have more insights on this Pablo Cuevas vs Kyle Edmund ATP match please check out the preview below.

Pablo Cuevas

Cuevas is 33 years old 47th ranked ATP player who mainly plays on clay courts. For example last year he’s played 44 matches overall and 36 of them were on clay. He’s definitely mastered all the specifics of this ground and is a threat to anyone in these kinds of tournaments. Pablo dropped out of Roland Garros in R64 last year by a loss to Kevin Anderson. Despite the fact, Cuevas has no points to defend here his motivation to show up at the biggest tournament on clay should not be questioned. Pablo has won 12 out of 15 last games played and is in incredible shape at the moment. If he keeps showing the same energy and consistency he might reach the highest stages at Roland Garros.

Kyle Edmund

It’s kind of a different story on Edmunds side. Injuries and lack of playing experience led to a sluggish start on clay this season. Edmund has lost 5 of the 6 first games he played only stopping the losing streak in French Open with a victory over Jeremy Chardy in 5 sets. Even though Edmund is ranked higher than Cuevas (30th at the moment) he is not that experienced of a player on clay courts but overall he is more talented as a player. In the game against Chardy Englishman finally looked like he’s back in form and it will be very interesting to see him competing against one of the masters of clay.
